FixIT+®
: Frequently asked questions
Q:
Do you service my area?
A: We
service most areas of Southern California. In short we cover: Riverside
County, Los Angeles County, San Bernardino County / The Inland Empire,
and other surrounding areas such as Palm Springs, Hemet, Temecula, Murrieta,
etc...
-
Q:
Do you charge by the hour?
A: Although
we have half-hour and hourly labor rates as part of our company pricing
they are only used in EXTREME and special circumstances. FixIT+ has
a strict policy of NOT charging by the hour as we are of the opinion that
such billing practices only lead to lazy technicians who are "working for
the clock" and not "working for the customer". It is our company belief
that if a technician is capable, experienced, and hard working that services
themselves should be billable. If a job takes longer than expected we don't
penalize our clients by charging exuberant fee's for time on the job. Do
not get tricked into making appointments with technicians who only charge
by the hour! Where FixIT+ has a set price, you will find that those
"other" companies will bill you for hundreds of dollars over your quote
because you are paying by the hour! If a technician takes more than two
hours to complete any job you should ask yourself: "Is he/she working
for my benefit, or his/hers?"
-
Q:
Will my quote be exact?
A: Our
Company gives quotes as an estimation of the work needed to be performed
based on the information you provide to us over the phone when you schedule
an appointment. When you call our service associates please be sure to
describe your problems in detail even if you don't know what the root of
the problem is. We have a solid reputation of keeping to our quotes as
good as we can. The only time your quote may differ from your final billable
total is when our technician identifies additional work that may better
your computer or network and you agree to the additional services, or if
the issues you are having differ from the services we recommend when scheduling
your appointment. We take much care in informing our technicians that they
are only to "politely recommend" additional services if they see a need
that can be fulfilled when they are on site and performing work for you.
We do not gouge our clients, but we do our best to make sure they are served
by our technicians as best as possible when they are on the job.
-
Q:
Do you sell parts or accessories?
A: When
our company was formed we made a decision to be a service-first organization.
A lot of our competitors make a comfortable living on selling parts and
software like RAM, DVD Drives, Norton, etc... We can order parts for our
clients or recommend software based on your needs but we make it a point
not to sell them as we are a service-first organization. When we do provide
parts, or software it is always sold or provided AT COST to our clients.
WE do not sell anti-virus or anti-spyware products as we provide them FREE
OF CHARGE to our customers as part of our optimization packages.
-
Q:
I have VIRUSES and made an appointment. Should I buy Anti-Virus software
before you come so you can install it when you're done?
A: Absolutely
not! Programs like Norton are pushed heavily in the retail world because
large retailers are given incentives to push those kinds of products to
the consumer. No experienced technician would openly recommend such a product
as they hinder more than they help. Norton, as an example installs itself
into so many parts of your computer that it can make doing mundane computer
tasks an almost impossible feat. Last but not least: VIRUSES are not an
issue... they haven't been for a very long time. These days the problems
are Trojans/Malware which are exploit programs that stealth install Ad-Ware/SpyWare/Keyloggers.
VIRUSES are completely different although the common idea is that they
are one in the same. We provide ALL of our customers with COMPLETELY FREE
and tested professional threat solutions as part of our "virus / spyware"
removal and optimization packages. Although it may seem to be a contradictory
point: we named the "virus removal" packages such to avoid confusion to
our customers as "viruses" are widely accepted as the same as "malware,
trojans, spyware, adware" which they are NOT.
-
Q:
What kind of warranty do you provide with your services?
A: All
services performed come with a 30-Day warranty against technician error.
It is very rare that one of our technicians would need to provide a re-service
as we make it a point to follow the mantra of doing things
right, no matter how difficult the job may be, the first time so there isn't
a second.
-
Q:
What if I can't have services performed at my location?
A: Our
Company provides FREE pickup and FREE delivery of computers to our clients
within our service regions at no additional cost. We realize there are
the elderly, disabled, and those who simply can not have us perform work
on site. Our goal when founding our company was to make computer service
accessible and affordable to EVERYONE. We, as a service-first company are
focused on not only making this happen, but keeping this ideal as a pivotal
cornerstone of our company policy as we continue to grow.
-
Q:
What type of computers or devices do you work on?
A: We
service Windows-Based PCs and Apple-Based systems in addition to devices
such as iPODs and in some cases we have even worked on setting up gaming
systems. If you have an older windows computer such as 3.1, 95, 98, NT,
etc..., you need not worry as our highly trained experts work on all flavors
of computer systems. We can even fix a Commodore 64 if you want us to!
Where most service companies only support the newest products, we support
ALL COMPUTING PRODUCTS, and where applicable, are trained and certified
to work on them!
